Spring 2013
The basement is littered with broken whiskey bottles & crushed cans of beer. Chris Allen & I have been holed up writing songs that will be featured on a new AWC studio recording. The experiences of performing at the King Biscuit Blues Festival, Juke Joint Festival, Shacksdale Motel, Juke Joint Chapel, Shack Up-Inn & others in the Mississippi Delta have fueled the fire that will become my newest original cd. The album recording will begin around Cleveland Indians Opening Day with a tentative release date just in time for Browns football in the fall.
The ENTIRE 2013 touring schedule is up & running! There will be gigs in Washington D.C., NYC, Chicago, Atlanta GA, Memphis, Clarksdale, Helena, Louisville, WV, & Ann Arbor along with many gin mills across Ohio.
Springtime & the Tribe are almost here!
Austin "Walkin' Cane"
Blues & Rhythm Magazine - UK - Review of The King Biscuit Blues Festival - 2010
...a superb performance from Austin “Walkin' Cane”, a new name to me. He was playing a National guitar & a lot of slide. Austin's superb deep voice certainly had a Blind Willie Johnson texture in a great mix of covers and self penned tracks, Walkin' Cane was backed by Earnest “Guitar“ Roy on drums. The best track of the set was the Cane original, Murder of a Blues Singer . - Pete Evans
