Maurice Reedus - 1930-2008 The Cleveland saxophone legend best known for his longtime association with Robert Jr. Lockwood passed away earlier this month. Mike Yates from Mike's Barn reminded me of a classic Maurice one-liner: "I am a musician & I'm paid weekly, very weakly."

The Delgados - Mike
Moran, founding member of the
Cleveland band, The
Delgados, passed away on July 26, 2008. Last time I saw Mike he crashed a
private party I was playing down the street from his home. Mike said he
could hear the band from his back yard a quarter mile down the road &
had to check it out. HA! Condolences to his brother, Kevin & the

Roadtrips: I
was just at Parkersburg, W. Va at the Front Row & at the Mid-Ohio
Valley Multi-Cultural Festival. Both jobs went well & at the latter
I received the 1st encore in the festival's history! Special thanks to
Steve Wells, Giff, Bea & everyone that made this a great weekend.
Later this month, I'll be heading back to Parkersburg, W.Va for a
private party & then off to North Carolina at the end of the month.
